Emily and Ross, February 20th 2010

I’m very excited to share this next set of wedding photos with you! Ross and Emily’s February 20th wedding was an incredible, action-packed, emotional, fun-filled, joyous event that I can only begin to describe in photographs. Going back through the images, it’s hard to believe that their wedding took place in the middle of February in Portland, Oregon! The weather was glorious and it hinted that Spring is just around the corner.

Ross and Emily’s day began downtown at the Hotel Lucia and was followed by a photo session at the Benson. We then headed to Couch City Park for photos with the wedding party. At 7pm, Emily and Ross married at the Temple of Beth Israel in NW Portland with a reception following at Bay 13 in Portland’s Pearl District. The day was truly picture-perfect in every way. Emily and Ross, we thank you for choosing us to document your beautiful wedding day. You and your family were so gracious and kind; it was a pleasure to be a part of this amazing beginning. We wish you both the very best in life and love!

Rebecca and Shawn, January 30th 2010

Warm. Kind. Charming. Magnetic. Spirited. These are just a few words that Rebecca and Shawn’s friends and family used to describe them as individuals and as a couple on their wedding day. It’s no surprise at all. The first time we met Rebecca and Shawn, I was immediately struck by their wit and sense of humor. We spent our entire meeting laughing! It was evident to me and Lincoln that this couple was not only very much in love, but they are surrounded and supported by the love of their family and friends. Congratulations to Rebecca and Shawn! May your life together be just as sweet and meaningful as your wedding day.

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone. Remember that you are loved.

Erin and Eric, January 2nd 2010

Erin and Eric are truly one of the sweetest couples that we’ve had the opportunity to photograph. When I met them last November for their engagement portrait session, I knew that their wedding was going to be amazing.

Amazing, it was.

On January 2nd 2010, Erin and Eric were married at the Treasury Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. Winter weddings are undeniably romantic; Erin and Eric’s wedding was no exception. The weather outside was damp, gray, and crisp. The atmosphere inside, at their wedding was warm, cozy, inviting and exciting. It was a fabulous way to start off our 2010 wedding season! Erin and Eric, we’re so happy for you. Wishing you the very best in 2010 and beyond!

Bianca and Ant, December 13th 2009

I’m very excited to post this next wedding. Although I thought that we had photographed our last wedding of 2009 in October, it turns out that we had one more  in store for us: the wedding of Bianca and Ant! Bianca is a friend of mine, a talented hair stylist, and one of the very first people I met in Portland. She’s also one of the coolest and funniest people I know. A while back, she made a trip to England and met the man of her dreams, Ant. They fell in love and decided to get married. Fancy that! And get married, they did. Bianca and Ant said their vows in a private studio at the Oak Street Building in front of a group of close family and friends. Afterward, they dined on a delicious, home-cooked meal that had been prepared just hours before. It smelled divine! After dinner, Bianca, Ant, their friends and family headed to the East End in SE Portland for a cake and champagne reception with more friends and loved ones. It was  a wonderful evening and a true pleasure to document a such happy occasion for a friend. Bianca and Ant, here’s to years of continued happiness, love, music, and adventure!

Alisha and Blake, October 17th 2009

This post is bittersweet for me. I’ll start with the sweet part: Alisha and Blake’s beautiful wedding at the Crown Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. I’m smitten with this wedding and with this lovely couple. I’m not sure that two people could be any more adorably in-love than Alisha and Blake. If you mix Autumn (I sort of have a soft spot for Autumn), a sensual yet welcoming venue, and amazing people you have their amazing wedding day. Going back through these photos I thought to myself  ‘life doesn’t get much better than this.’

The bitter part: this is our last wedding for the season. It’s hard for me to believe, but we’ve photographed nearly 30 weddings this year. Wow! What a great year it has been.

Thank you to Blake and Alisha for allowing us to photograph their beautiful wedding. We definitely finished the year in style!

Thank you to all of our clients for an amazing year. We appreciate all of you so much.

Nicole and James, October 10th 2009

Nicole and James’ October 10th wedding was so lovely that I honestly had a hard time finding the words that could aptly describe this beautiful event. The candlelit, sunset ceremony was so perfect for the setting and the season. Everything was so sumptuous and romantic, accented in lovely pinks and golds and bathed in flowers and candle light. Being there made you feel warm and fuzzy inside despite the crisp autumn air. All five of my senses were on complete, blissful overload! Nicole and James, we thank you both for choosing us to capture this incredible day. May your future together be just as sweet as your wedding!

Liz and Eduardo, October 3rd 2009

Liz and Eduardo were married on Saturday, October 3rd at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigard, Oregon with their reception following at the Acadian Ballroom in NE Portland. Some of you may remember Liz and Eduardo from their engagement photo session at the Pittock Mansion earlier this year. You may also remember that they met at a salsa dancing class. Well, folks, you should have seen these two dance together on their wedding day. Wow. It was, hands down, amazing. Much like their first dance,  Liz and Eduardo’s wedding day was beautiful, romantic, and compelling. Congratulations, Liz and Eduardo, and thank you for choosing us to photograph your wedding day!

Jessica and Cole, September 19th 2009

What a perfect day this was! Jessica and Cole’s September 19th wedding at Lakeside Gardens couldn’t have been better. The weather had been somewhat unpredictable all day long, in true Oregon fashion. However, the dark clouds and rain showers cleared out just in time for their sunset ceremony. I’m also told that Jessica and Cole’s Alma Mater, the University of Oregon, won their football game that day. Talk about good omens:) And the best thing that happened that day, Jessica and Cole both married their best friend. Congratulations, Jessica and Cole! We wish you a long and happy future together.

Tiana and Philip, September 12th 2009

There is something about Summer turning into Fall that is incredibly romantic. It’s one of the reasons that September is my favorite month. It’s the perfect time of year to celebrate love, wouldn’t you say? On Saturday, September 12th 2009, Tiana and Philip were married at the beautiful Garden Vineyards in Hillsboro, Oregon. Their wedding day was both elegant and relaxed, the perfect combination for a late-summer, vineyard wedding. And what a celebration it was! Family, friends, laughter, dancing, more laughter. I could go on and on, but I think it’s best to let the photos do the talking. Tiana and Philip, a sincere congratulations to you both. Thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing us to capture your day!

P.s. You may have noticed that the blog photo size has changed – this is in preparation for our new blog site that will be launched in the coming months. Please stay tuned!

Amanda and Scott, September 6th 2009

On Labor Day weekend 2008, Lincoln and I had the opportunity to meet Amanda and Scott while photographing Amber and Randy’s August 30th wedding. I remember thinking how friendly Amanda and Scott were as individuals and also how lovely they were as a couple. Lincoln and I even took a couple of photos of them together that evening and I remember hoping that we’d have the chance to run into them again in the future. To my delight, several months later, I received an email from Scott saying that he and Amanda had gotten engaged and they wanted us to photograph their wedding. Yay! On Sunday, September 6th 2009, Amanda and Scott were married at the Oswego Lake Country Club in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The weather on their wedding day was profoundly autumnal with a mix of sunshine, rain, and clouds that led to a colorful and dramatic sunset. The rain showers truly made their indoor ceremony and reception feel so cozy and intimate. It reminded me of how much I adore Fall weddings. We even had a few sun breaks that allowed us to take advantage of the gorgeous grounds of the country club by doing a few photos outside. It was a perfect day! Amanda and Scott, thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your wedding. We wish you two the very best!

Annie Mae and Ben, August 23rd 2009

Annie Mae and Ben love: each other, family, friends, dogs (especially their dog Mori), fun, laughter, nature, and dancing. I’m sure this list could go on and on. However, these eight things that are listed here were truly the elements that defined their incredibly personal and whimsical wedding day. Annie Mae and Ben were married on Sunday, August 23rd at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort on Mt. Hood. One fact that I thought was especially touching about their wedding date (August 23rd) is Ben’s parents and Ben’s paternal grandparents were also married on this same date. So sweet. Annie Mae and Ben, we had SO much fun photographing your wedding. Thank you for making us feel so welcome at your beautiful event. We wish you continued love, laughter, and good times!

Jill and Alec, August 22nd 2009

Every wedding we’ve ever photographed at the View Point Inn has a certain magical quality to it. Jill and Alec’s wedding on Saturday, August 22nd was no exception. Maybe it’s the amazing location, perched on a bluff, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. Or maybe it’s the unbelievable sunset that seems to happen no matter what.  Maybe it’s the intimate setting that allows the couple and their guests to truly enjoy one another. I believe that it is all of those things combined that made Jill and Alec’s day so special. The range of emotion, from tears of joy, to laughter, to quiet reflection, is what really stands out in my mind when I think back on their wedding day. It was magical indeed! Jill and Alec, thank you for the opportunity to document such an important day in your life together. We wishing you a sincere congratulations and all the best in the future!

Evelini and Andy, August 15th 2009

It makes feel like all is right in the world to know that two people as nice as Evelini and Andy can meet amidst the hustle and bustle of New York City and fall in love. Part of their wedding ceremony talked about Evelini and Andy walking into a crowd by themselves, looking for adventure and friendship, and emerging from that crowd holding hands. I adore that metaphor and think it is a great way to describe their love story. Evelini and Andy celebrated their wedding at Stonehedge Gardens in Hood River, Oregon on beautiful a Saturday in August. What a lovely and intimate evening it was! Lincoln and I feel that it was a privilege to be there to photograph the first day in this new chapter in their lives together. Evelini and Andy, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding celebration. Here’s to lifetime of happiness, friendship and true love!

Evelini and Andy’s Rehearsal Dinner, August 14th 2009

After photographing Evelini and Andy’s rehearsal dinner, I’m totally in love with the idea of documenting this very important and intimate part of the wedding celebration. What a wonderful and relaxed way to get to know the couple and their wedding party! Evelini and Andy’s rehearsal dinner was hosted by Evelini’s lovely mother, Mafi, and was held at her home in Happy Valley, Oregon. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the couple enjoyed an amazing Polynesian feast as a way to celebrate Evelini’s Polynesian background. It was a beautiful evening and Lincoln and I were very honored to be there to document it. Please stay tuned for photos of Evelini and Andy’s wedding at Stonehedge in Hood River, Oregon!

Danielle and Kevin, August 9th 2009

Oh my. Danielle and Kevin’s wedding was so sweet. Truly one for the history books. I could go on and on about what a nice couple Danielle and Kevin are (which they are) and how impeccable their taste is (which it is), but I do think that their images speak for themselves (I hope). Danielle and Kevin’s August 9th wedding at Kruger’s Farm was amazing. Please click on their photo below and see for yourself. Danielle and Kevin, happy wedding, happy honeymoon, happy happy marriage! Alanna and Robby, August 8th 2009

What a wedding this was! Celebration, laughter, joy, and one of the biggest dance parties Lincoln and I have ever witnessed. Alanna and Robby were married at the Lake View House in Lake Oswego, Oregon on August 8th 2009. They celebrated their wedding at the Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, Oregon. The weather was, in my opinion, perfect. Slightly cloudy (great for photos), slightly cool (great for people wearing suits), with an epic sunset to end the day (great for everyone). Robby and Alanna’s friends and family shared the couple’s good sense of humor, which made the entire day really fun and relaxed. Needless to say, we had a excellent time photographing this beautiful event.  Robby and Alanna, we hope you had a wonderful honeymoon! May your future together be just as beautiful as your wedding day.

Nikki and Chris, August 1st 2009

We kicked off our busiest month yet by photographing the wedding of Nikki and Chris on August 1st 2009. Nikki and Chris were married at the Resort at the Mountain, a beautiful golf, ski and spa resort that is located in the Western Highlands of Mt. Hood in Oregon. The Resort was an amazing backdrop to Chris and Nikki’s celebration with its amazing panoramic views and temperatures that were about 10 degrees cooler than Portland – a nice treat on a hot day! Additionally, Nikki, Chris and their guests enjoyed one of the most spectacular sunsets we’ve ever seen. Nikki and Chris, thank you for choosing us to document your amazing wedding! Best wishes to you in your future together.

Amanda and Tim, July 28th 2009

Amanda and Tim’s wedding was all-around fabulous. This beautiful couple was married on Tuesday, July 28th 2009 in front of an intimate group of family and friends at Our Lady of the Lake in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Their ceremony was followed by reception at Oswego Hills Vineyard and Winery located in West Linn. With their closest loved ones present to share in their day, it was one of the most elegantly charming and relaxed celebrations we’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph. Joanna and Patrick, July 25th 2009

I was looking up words today that would aptly describe Joanna and Pat as individuals and as a couple. After some research, I found the perfect adjective: magnanimous. There are several definitions for the word, but the one I felt was most appropriate to describe this lovely couple is this: generous of spirit and greathearted.

Joanna and Pat were married on Saturday, July 25th 2009 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon. The temperatures soared into the 90s, but that didn’t stop Joanna, Pat, their family and their friends from having the time of their lives. Joanna and Pat, thank you for choosing us to photograph your incredibly fun and vibrant wedding celebration! We wish you two the very best.

Trisha and Randall, July 19th 2009

If ever there was a fairytale wedding, it was Trisha and Randall’s. Everything about their big day felt like something out of a storybook. The couple, the setting, the weather, the details – absolutely everything was classically beautiful. Trisha and Randall’s wedding was held at Melrose Vineyards in Roseburg, Oregon. Lincoln and I had never photographed a wedding at Melrose Vineyards nor had we ever been to Roseburg. I must say that we both enjoyed the road trip and were doubly delighted to photograph such a kind and gracious couple. Randall and Trisha, we hope your wedding day was everything you dreamed it would be and more. Congratulations!

Anne and Alex, July 11th 2009

Anne and Alex’s nuptial at the View Point Inn on Saturday, July 11th was the first wedding we’d photographed at the Inn since last fall. As some of you may remember, Lincoln and I were also married their in early November, so we have a special connection to the place.I think it’s fair to state that, matter what time of year it is, the View Point Inn is still one of the most romantic places on earth to get married. Anne and Alex’s wedding was no exception. Their day was not only romantic, it was also elegant and relaxed. At the end of the evening, the bride and groom and most of their guests came outside to enjoy the spectacular sunset. It was an amazing wedding and a fantastic day all around. Anne and Alex, congratulations! Lincoln and I are so happy for you and wish you a beautiful future together.

Tiffany and Brad, June 27th 2009

It’s my belief that, during the wedding planning process, every couple ponders the possibility of going to a foreign country by themselves to tie the knot. Imagine it: just you and the love of your life in a beautiful city, dressed in your wedding day best, vowing to spend the rest of your lives together and your only witness is the person who is marrying you. Sounds romantic, right? Then you come back home and celebrate your nuptials by holding a rocking party with all of your family and friends. It’s pretty much the best of both worlds, is it not? Tiffany and Brad thought so too. This beautiful couple was married in May in Prato, Italy. After enjoying their first few weeks of wedded bliss relaxing in Europe, they headed back to Portland to hold their stylish and fun reception at the Olympic Mills Commerce Center. What struck me most about Tiffany and Brad was truly how much they loved to laugh. Really, it was hard to find a photo where they weren’t laughing or smiling – a photographer’s dream. Tiffany and Brad, Lincoln and I wish you a sincere congratulations and best wishes for the future!

Katie and Cory, June 20th 2009

Katie and Cory’s wedding was one of the first that we booked for 2009, so Lincoln and I have been looking for to photographing their big day for quite a while now. The happy couple was married on Saturday, June 20th 2009 at St. Patrick’s Church in NW Portland and was followed by a rocking reception at the Portland Art Museum.  Katie, Cory, their family, wedding party and their out-of-town guests all stayed at the stylish new Nines hotel in downtown Portland. They were transported by the Oregon City Trolley to the church and the reception. It was a super fun, action-packed day that gave their guests a glimpse of some of Portland’s finest landmarks. Katie and Cory couldn’t be a more lovely and gracious couple, and their friends and family are just as kind as they they are. Katie and Cory, it was a pleasure to document your wedding day. Thank you for making us feel like family:) We hope that you two are having an amazing honeymoon!

Emily and Eric, June 7th 2009

I admit it. I’m in love with Emily and Eric’s wedding. This adorable couple was married on Sunday, June 7th, 2009 at Bridal Veil Lakes, Oregon. Bridal Veil happens to be one of our favorite venues simply because it’s one of the loveliest places on earth. Emily and Eric’s nuptials truly complimented their personalities as well as their beautiful location. Nothing that I could write would give justice to what a beautiful day it was, so I’ll let the photos do the talking:) Emily and Eric, congratulations! It was a pleasure documenting your wedding day.
