Aja’s Maternity Portrait Session
A few weeks ago, I spent a lovely afternoon photographing Aja and her husband Eric. Aja and Eric are getting ready to welcome a sweet baby girl, Bella, into their lives any day now and I know that they are going to be amazing parents. They are so sweet to one another, making each other laugh and smile. There are piles of baby books around their house. Bella’s nursery is all set and ready to welcome her. Even Bentley, their dog, seems to be waiting in anticipation for Bella’s arrival. Eric and Aja, I’m so excited for you two. I cannot wait to meet little Bella and I’m looking forward to her newborn session later this month!
Meet Baby Wyatt
On June 15th 2010, sweet little Wyatt was born. You may recognize his parents, Annica and Chris, from Annica’s maternity session that we did back in April. A couple of weeks ago, I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with Annica and Chris at their home, photographing their newborn baby boy. Wyatt is such a sweetheart! He was so good-natured during his session. He didn’t fuss or cry, but was wide awake for the entire hour and half that I was there, taking it all in, making my heart melt:) Congratulations, Annica and Chris, on your beautiful, bouncing baby boy!
Amelia’s First Birthday Party
Guess who turned one-year old on June 17th this year? Little Amelia did! And I was the lucky photographer who was there to document Amelia’s first birthday party, which was held on Father’s Day this year at Jen and Dan’s home in McMinnville. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you probably recognize Jen, Dan, (and Amelia too!) Lincoln and I photographed Jen and Dan’s wedding back in 2008. In Spring of 2009, I received the happy news that Jen and Dan were expecting a baby, and I was honored to photograph Jen’s maternity session, as well as Amelia’s newborn session. I’m beginning to feel like an honorary family member:) It gives me great joy document these important moments in my clients’ lives. Jen and Dan, as always, it was a pleasure to see you again and I’m looking forward to seeing you again next year!
Annica’s Maternity Portrait Session
I feel fortunate that my job is to photograph some of the most exciting moments in people’s lives. It’s photo sessions like this next one that remind me how important it is to not only document these occasions, but also to enjoy them because they pass so quickly. Annica and Chris are expecting their first baby in June and contacted me to photograph them during Annica’s pregnancy. Annica and Chris explained to me that they wanted photographs that not only captured Annica’s adorable baby bump, but they also wanted to document the fact that they were both welcoming a new addition to their family.
Just over a week ago, I was graciously invited into their home and enthusiastically greeted by their dog, Kensie. We spent part of the session at their house in Lake Oswego and headed to the campus of Marylhurst University for a few more photos. It was such a sweet photo shoot and it was so obvious that Annica and Chris are very excited to become parents. I’m glad I had the opportunity to document this piece of their personal history. Thank you Chris and Annica for the lovely photo session! I’m looking forward to meeting your newest member of your family:)

Meet Baby Amelia
I’m completely smitten with Jen and Dan’s baby girl, Amelia Rae. As some of you may recall, Lincoln and I were the lucky photographers that captured Jen and Dan’s wedding on August 9th 2008. What a beautiful event it was! Then, in February of this year, I received a call from Jen with the happy news that she and Dan were expecting a baby in June and they wanted me to document this exciting time in their lives. In May, I did a maternity portrait session with Jen and Dan in the studio, which was so much fun. On June 17th 2009, a week and one month after Jen’s maternity portrait session, Amelia Rae came into the world, a healthy bouncing baby girl! There are no words for how precious she is. Jen and Dan are understandably beside themselves with happiness:) Congrats, Jen and Dan! I look forward to continuing to document Amelia as she grows.

Meet Baby Nicholas
On Mother’s Day weekend this year, I had the pleasure of working with two couples who also happen to be former clients of ours. Tatum and David, married in September of 2006, and Jen and Dan, married in August of 2008, contacted me a few months ago with the wonderful news that they were both expecting their first baby!!! Each couple wanted to document this special time in their lives and asked if I would be their photographer. Of course I was delighted with their happy news and was thrilled to be working with each couple during another important time in their lives together. I love my job!
On Sunday, May 10th, I went to the home of Tatum and David to meet their first-born son, Nicholas. Tatum and David welcomed Nicholas into the world on April 24th 2009. As we all know, babies grow so quickly. Tatum and David wanted to capture Nicholas as a newborn. Nicholas is such a sweet baby boy and a real trooper when it came to having his photo taken:) It was a great way to spend Mother’s Day morning.

Jen’s Maternity Portrait Session
Jen and Dan are expecting their first little one in just a couple of weeks and wanted to do a few maternity portraits before the baby was born. Working with Jen and Dan reminded me of what a sweet and intimate time this is in life. It was wonderful capturing Jen during her eighth month of pregnancy. It’s true that expecting mothers are radiant! Jen and Dan are going to be the best parents – I can’t wait to meet their baby:)

Dylan James Vernon, 5 weeks old
A couple of weeks ago, I spent a lovely afternoon at home of Nic and Michelle Vernon photographing their brand new baby boy, Dylan. It was almost a year ago that Lincoln and I had the pleasure of photographing Nic and Michelle’s wedding, which made it so special to be there taking a portrait of their son on the day he turned 5 weeks old.
