Amanda and Jeff’s love story is one for the history books. They met in August 2010 while stationed in South Korea as Captains in the United States Air Force. Amanda began working as a liaison officer in Jeff’s work spaces on a daily basis during the North West Island Crisis. At the time, relations between North and South Korea were tense and there was even talk of war breaking out. Times of crisis can bring clarity to all aspects of your life and it was at this time that Jeff pulled Amanda aside and asked her if she would have dinner with him. As Amanda recounted to me, they had their first date in December and the rest is history.
Fast forward to the summer of 2011, Amanda and Jeff had just booked us to photograph their wedding which will take place in Oregon this upcoming July. They had talked about possibility flying back to Oregon together to do an engagement session. However, getting time off together for such an extended period of time wasn’t going to be easy for them. That’s when Amanda and Jeff asked me and Lincoln if we’d be interested in flying over to Korea to photograph them in the country where they met, fell in love, and were engaged. An opportunity like this doesn’t present itself everyday, and Lincoln and I excitedly agreed to a trip and experience of a lifetime. As fate would have it, just a few days before the trip I was experiencing some health complications and, sadly, was unable to make the journey to Korea. However, my amazing husband, Lincoln, decided to make the trip on his own and completely saved the day. Amanda, Jeff, and Lincoln met up in Seoul and spent a few fun days getting to know one another, visiting different sites, and, of course, taking photographs. Lincoln did an amazing job of capturing Amanda and Jeff in this incredible country where their love story began. Amanda and Jeff, a great big congratulations to you. We are so excited to photograph your wedding in July!
